Medrad inks coil deal with GE

MRI coil supplier Medrad will beginselling surface coils directly to GE MRI customers under the termsof an agreement between the two companies announced this month.The deal expands the existing MRI coil development relationshipbetween GE and Medrad.

MRI coil supplier Medrad will beginselling surface coils directly to GE MRI customers under the termsof an agreement between the two companies announced this month.The deal expands the existing MRI coil development relationshipbetween GE and Medrad.

Medrad is forming an MRI sales force to concentrate on theeffort, in which it will sell GE-labeled surface coils to theinstalled base of GE MRI customers. Medrad sales representativeswill receive support from GE's sales and marketing staff, accordingto Medrad president and CEO Thomas Witmer.

The two companies have jointly developed over 30 MRI surfacecoils. They will continue to design and manufacture coils together,according to the Pittsburgh-based Medrad.
