Catheter developer CardioVascular Dynamics of Irvine, CA, has
signed a co-distribution deal with cardiology device manufacturer
Medtronic of Minneapolis. Medtronic will buy a minimum number
of CVD angioplasty catheters for global distribution for up to
three years. The catheters covered by the agreement use CVD's
focus technology, which concentrates the device's expansion energy
on a specific area of the balloon. CVD will continue to sell focus-technology-based
catheters through its own direct and indirect sales network.
