Catheter developer CardioVascular Dynamics of Irvine, CA, has

signed a co-distribution deal with cardiology device manufacturer

Medtronic of Minneapolis. Medtronic will buy a minimum number

of CVD angioplasty catheters for global distribution for up to

three years. The catheters covered by the agreement use CVD's

focus technology, which concentrates the device's expansion energy

on a specific area of the balloon. CVD will continue to sell focus-technology-based

catheters through its own direct and indirect sales network.
