The Axiom Artis U developed by Siemens Medical Solutions is being prepped for entry into the U.S. market. The compact, mobile digital C-arm system, which has cleared the FDA, offers four times more generator power than any commercial mobile C-arm system, according to the company. It supports a wide variety of examinations, including angiographic and cardiac interventions. The increased power supports the assessment of obese patients and provides longer fluoroscopy times. The system incorporates Siemens' CARE (combined application to reduce exposure), which automatically adjusts x-ray dose to match the density of the region of interest.
