Philips and Siemens landed supply contracts from Premier Purchasing Partners for their full-line imaging modalities and related services. The three-year agreements, which take effect Sept. 1, could generate $2 billion in sales. Philips and Siemens will each offer Premier members CT and MR scanners, nuclear medicine equipment, including PET, radiography systems, ultrasound, and cardiac imaging technology. Siemens will also offer mammography. Premier negotiates group purchasing contracts for nearly 200 of the nation's leading hospital and healthcare systems, representing close to 1500 hospital facilities in 50 states and hundreds of other care sites.
