Visualization Technology has released a software application for use in cranial surgery. Employed in conjunction with the company’s InstaTrak System for image-guided surgery, the software tool processes brain scan data to create color highlights of critical structures such as tumors and blood vessels. Danger zones, such as major blood vessels, become easily visible in three dimensions, enabling the surgeon to navigate more safely and less invasively, and to be more aggressive during removal of deep brain tumors.
