Planar hopes to trim the fat in radiology departments with an initiative aimed at convincing users of CRT systems to replace them with the company's flat-panel displays. The promotion, which runs from April 19 to July 16, allows providers to trade in their current 2-megapixel or higher gray-scale analog display controllers for dual sets of Dome C3 3-megapixel and Dome C5i 5-megapixel gray-scale flat-panel displays at price points below $10,000 per set-less than the average cost of two high-end CRTs and an analog display controller, according to the company. The CX family is available at 2-, 3- and 5-megapixel resolution, gray-scale and full-color, diagnostic- and referral-grade.
