Recent turmoil at imaging services provider US Diagnostic of WestPalm Beach, FL, has not prevented the company from closing itsacquisition of Medical Diagnostics. USDL reported late last weekthat it completed its purchase of MDI, which was a subsidiaryof Advanced NMR of Wilmington, MA.

USDL announced in January that it had reached an agreementwith Advanced NMR to buy MDI, which provides fixed and mobileimaging services (SCAN 1/22/97). Advanced NMR needed to sell MDIto raise money to pay off a secured credit line. USDL paid $22million for the subsidiary, which had about $21.4 million in revenuefor its 1996 fiscal year (end-September).
