AFP Imaging's fiscal 1996 financial results (end-June) got a strongboost from sales of electronic imaging components developed byVisiplex Instruments, which AFP acquired in 1995 (SCAN 8/16/95).AFP, of Elmsford, NY, said annual sales increased $10 million,although net income dropped.
For the year, AFP had revenues of $36.5 million, compared with$26.6 million in fiscal 1995. Net income stood at $701,000, comparedwith $924,000 in 1995. For the fourth quarter, AFP posted revenuesof $10.7 million and net income of $515,000, compared with salesof $6.7 million and net income of $470,000 in the fourth quarterof 1995.
AFP said Visiplex's product line has been integrated into AFP'smanufacturing and distribution process, and will provide a basefor AFP's expansion into digital imaging. On Sept. 12, AFP receiveda contract from an unnamed OEM customer for $900,000 in Visiplexproducts.
In addition, AFP last month launched a new line of Brightviewmonitors, which AFP claims has above-average brightness and resolution.
