In the hope of boosting interest in its thin-client visualization system, Ziosoft is providing to the academic and research communities free software for processing 2D and 3D images. The Windows-based software, called zioTerm basic 2D/3D, can be used to review DICOM 3.0-compatible imaging data from CT, MR, PET, ultrasound and X-ray on a local computer connected to the Internet. The freeware will provide students and researchers experience using Ziosoft’s core 2D/3D software, according to the company, a long-time provider of advanced visualization in Japan that entered the U.S. market only in the last couple years. The zioTerm software can be downloaded from www.ziosoftinc.com.
