Acuson has started shipping its new Cypress echocardiography system to healthcare providers in North America, according to an announcement at this months American Society of Echocardiography meeting in Chicago.
The portable Cypress, weighing less than 20 pounds, uses harmonic two-dimensional imaging, digital image output with network capabilities, integrated stress echo, color Doppler, and spectral Doppler.
In addition, the Cypress is designed with the DICOM communications standard embedded in the system and internal disk capacity for storing patient studies in a high-resolution format. The Cypress system can connect with Acusons KinetDx PACS as well as other DICOM-compliant networks.
