InSight Health Services of Newport Beach, CA, last month announced the resignation of its president and CEO, Larry Atkins. The company said that its chairman, Frank Egger, will take on Atkins duties until a permanent replacement is found. Atkins became president and CEO of InSight in 1996, when the company was formed out of a merger between imaging services firms Maxum Health and American Health Services (SCAN 3/13/96). Under his leadership, InSight doubled its annual revenues.
The company has also combined its operations into two geographic areas, with Brian Stone leading the eastern region and Michael Madler leading the western region. InSights central region operations will be absorbed into the two new areas. Both Stone and Madler have been promoted to executive vice president positions and will report to InSights president and CEO.
