Carestream develops cardiology PACS
A new Web-based cardiology PACS from Carestream Health supports in a single platform diagnosis, image review and reporting for echocardiography, cardiac catheterization and nuclear cardiology. The Carestream Cardiology PACS, slated for commercial release the end of September, is designed to bring together otherwise isolated cardiac lab systems with the goal of increasing efficiency and lowering costs. Structured reporting templates come standard for all cardiovascular applications onboard the cardiology PACS, as well as measurement tools specifically for echocardiography applications. Nuclear cardiology features include web-based gated SPECT wall motion review, a 3D cine and localizer tool, and viewing and reporting tools. The cardiology PACS integrates with the company’s radiology PACS, allowing healthcare providers to use the same workstation for diagnostic reading and clinical review of both types of studies.
