Canadian software specialist Cedara has signed an engineering services deal with Medtronic Surgical Navigation Technologies (SNT). Under the agreement, Cedara will assist in developing software for Medtronic's Universal Navigated Orthopedics program. One product has already been completed: an imageless software application for the planning and surgical navigation of total knee replacement procedures. The product, which will be marketed and sold by Medtronic SNT worldwide, works with all orthopedic implant types.
