De Simone was a veteran of GE's European marketing operationswhen he was tapped to lead the company's PACS effort in November1994. The division debuted at the 1994 Radiological Society ofNorth America meeting as GE's entry into the PACS and networkingarena (SCAN 12/14/94).
An official replacement for De Simone at the division has notyet been named, according to a GE spokesperson.
