M-DSI retrofits to Bennett's Contour mammography system andis based on a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera and fiber-opticcoupling technology (SCAN 6/15/94). It was developed by Copiague,NY-based Bennett in coordination with aerospace firm NorthropGrumman.
M-DSI will compete with digital spot mammography products fromLorad and Fischer Imaging. In addition, all three vendors planto highlight their work in full-breast digital imaging at theupcoming Radiological Society of North America meeting.
