Computed radiography firm Fuji Medical Systems USA of Stamford,CT, will try to increase its lead in the modality with severalnew CR systems and enhancements that target new applications.FCR 9502 is a CR table designed as a replacement for conventionalx-ray radiography tables, according to Dave Armstrong, directorof Fuji's electronic imaging and equipment group. Fuji believesthe table can increase throughput and reduce costs while bringingx-ray into PACS networks.
FCR 9501 ES is a variation on Fuji's FCR 9501 chest unit. TheES model includes a new feature that enables clinicians to conductsingle-shot energy subtraction, which can eliminate either softtissue or bony structures on a CR image at the push of a button.
Other Fuji product introductions include a new DICOM gatewayas well as AC-3 CS, a new version of the vendor's AC-3 CR readerthat features an internal CR plate stacker. Fuji will also introduceseveral new film processors and laser imagers.
Finally, look for Fuji to emphasize recent OEM relationshipssigned with Siemens, Picker and GE (SCAN 9/27/95 and 8/30/95).
