Computed radiography firm Fuji Medical Systems USA of Stamford,CT, will try to increase its lead in the modality with severalnew CR systems and enhancements that target new applications.FCR 9502 is a CR table designed as a replacement for conventionalx-ray radiography tables, according to Dave Armstrong, directorof Fuji's electronic imaging and equipment group. Fuji believesthe table can increase throughput and reduce costs while bringingx-ray into PACS networks.
FCR 9501 ES is a variation on Fuji's FCR 9501 chest unit. TheES model includes a new feature that enables clinicians to conductsingle-shot energy subtraction, which can eliminate either softtissue or bony structures on a CR image at the push of a button.
Other Fuji product introductions include a new DICOM gatewayas well as AC-3 CS, a new version of the vendor's AC-3 CR readerthat features an internal CR plate stacker. Fuji will also introduceseveral new film processors and laser imagers.
Finally, look for Fuji to emphasize recent OEM relationshipssigned with Siemens, Picker and GE (SCAN 9/27/95 and 8/30/95).
Could a Deep Learning Model for Mammography Improve Prediction of DCIS and Invasive Breast Cancer?
April 15th 2024Artificial intelligence (AI) assessment of mammography images may significantly enhance the prediction of invasive breast cancer and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in women with breast cancer, according to new research presented at the Society for Breast Imaging (SBI) conference.
MRI-Based AI Model Shows Promise in Predicting Lymph Node Metastasis with Breast Cancer
April 15th 2024For the prediction of axillary lymph node metastasis in patients with breast cancer, an MRI-based, 4D convolutional neural network model demonstrated an AUC of 87 percent and sensitivity of 89 percent, according to new research.
