Fuji Medical Systems USA has agreed to a limited-time offer to sell its CR readers at special pricing to members of the Premier group purchasing organization. The agreement could bring more than $25 million in sales to the Stamford, CT-based vendor. Premier's members have until May 1 to take advantage of the deal, which covers Fuji's AC-3, FCR-5000, FCR-9000, and FCR-9501 CR systems.
While digital detectors have drawn attention in the radiology community, there is clearly a strong demand for CR. In fact, Fuji believes prospective purchasers are increasingly looking to use CR in diverse types of applications, said Clay Larsen, managing director at Fuji.
"Until now, CR has been looked at primarily as a great solution for ICU/CCU, and the ER department," Larsen said. "Now the adoption rate is heating up to place the systems in total departmental solutions, trying to get the entire radiographic case load into a digital format. The adoption rate is getting a broader footprint into institutions."
