Finalizing its purchase of transducer maker Parallel Design helps GE Medical Systems keep pace with its closest competitor, Siemens Medical Systems Company, in the race to become the world's largest ultrasound Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Parallel is headquartered in Phoenix and is known for its extended-performance transducers. The company was founded in 1991 and has about 170 employees. It already supplies transducers for GE's Logiq 700 ultrasound platform. n
