Doublespeak in equipment prices is common. Usually, list price and street price are two different things. As of March 8 GE Medical Systems has restructured its list prices for MRI scanners to bring them more in line with the marketplace in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. The restructuring will probably have little impact on final net selling prices, but it should simplify pricing for customers and sales staff, according to the company. GE executives believe the move will help customers budget more accurately for capital purchases.
