GE Medical Systems last month renewed its agreement to supply Columbia/HCA Healthcare with medical imaging equipment and services. The multi-year deal is estimated at approximately $1.5 billion. Waukesha, WI-based GE will provide all of Columbias U.S. facilities with products for such imaging modalities as CT, MR, nuclear medicine, x-ray, mammography, and ultrasound, and for patient monitoring systems, as well as maintenance and servicing of these systems. GE will also offer Columbia training and consulting services.
The agreement continues the relationship GE started with Columbia in 1995, when it signed a five-year contract to provide comprehensive equipment maintenance and asset management services to Columbia/HCA hospitals (SCAN 3/15/95).
