The Health Industry Manufacturers Association last week released the first part of a report it hasdeveloped on reforming the Food and Drug Administration. The sectioncontains 40 proposals for reforming the agency, including usingthird-party entities to conduct some of the agency's tasks inregulating medical devices. Part one of the report, entitled Reporton Public Policy Reform and the U.S. Health Care Technology Industry,was delivered to Congress last week. Parts two and three of thereport will be released later this month.
