Hitachi Medical Systems America (HMSA) this month launched Hitachi Medical Systems South America, a sales and service joint venture between HMSA and Hitachi Medical and Mitsui, both of Japan. HMSA holds a 70% stake in the venture, and will manage it from its headquarters in Twinsburg, OH. The unit’s primary goal will be to serve the open MRI market in Brazil, in conjunction with its first direct sales and service organization, Hitachi Sistemas Medicos do Brasil of São Paulo.
