Five-year contract furthers the companies’ existing partnership.
Hitachi and Olympus Corporation have inked a five-year deal that further solidifies their partnership in endoscopic ultrasound system development.
As part of this contract, announced Jan. 7, Hitachi will continue to supply diagnostic ultrasound systems and related parts to Olympus for use in the endoscopic ultrasound systems. The agreement will become valid after the pending transfer of Hitachi’s diagnostic imaging-related business to Fujifilm.

This deal marks the continuation of the Hitachi-Olympus endoscopic ultrasound system collaboration that began in the 1980s.
