InformaTech acquires PACS consulting firm

Systems integrator and telemedicine consulting firm InformaTech of Frederick, MD, has purchased the telemedicine services division of MIS Labs. Formed in 1996, the MIS Labs division has provided consulting services, including PACS engineering, project management, benchmark testing, and on-site acceptance testing, as part of the Digital Imaging Network-Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (DIN-PACS) project.

As part of the acquisition, MIS Labs executives have been named to managerial positions with InformaTech. David Lyche has been named manager of clinical consulting services, while John Romlein has been tapped as manager of clinical project services. Gary Norton will assume the position of manager of clinical information services. Before forming the MIS Labs business, the group worked together on PACS implementations as members of the U.S. Army and Air Force.
