Imaging services firm InSight Health Services has signed an agreement to acquire an existing imaging center and to secure a majority ownership in the development of a new outpatient imaging center in the Midwest. The arrangement, which is expected to be completed by mid-July, will add approximately $8 million to InSight's annual net revenues and will strengthen its network's position for managed-care contracting, according to the company.
Within the Midwest, InSight now operates 18 MRI scanners and eight fixed-site multimodality imaging sites. InSight also has 42 MRI sites under contract in the region, according to the company.
In other InSight news, the Newport Beach, CA-based firm has completed its acquisition of three imaging networks in the Northeast. Those networks generated combined net revenues of $7 million in 1996, according to the company.
