Finnish x-ray vendor Instrumentarium Imaging has shipped 40 mammography units to St. Petersburg, Russia, as part of a municipal effort to improve womens health in the city. Under the program, Russian doctors are being trained in mammography screening in Turku, Finland, a sister city to St. Petersburg. The program calls for additional purchases.
In other Instrumentarium news, the company recently opened sales offices in Germany, France, and Italy. The German office will handle Instrumentariums dental products, while the French and Italian offices will handle dental and mammography lines, according to the vendor.
