Eastman Kodak has signed an agreement with Cemax-Icon to add thatPACS developer's teleradiology and PACS workstation technologyto Kodak's image management systems. Kodak, of Rochester, NY,would not release details of the new relationship, and Cemax-Iconof Fremont, CA, declined to comment, citing confidentiality issues.

Kodak's Digital Science image management system (formerly knownas Ektascan Imagelink) has a teleradiology component, but theCemax-Icon agreement will give customers additional flexibility.The decision to partner with Cemax-Icon indicates Kodak's growingwillingness to outsource products from other firms rather thandevelop PACS components on its own, according to spokespersonDawn Beck.
