The vice president of Marconi Medical Systems' Asia/Pacific region has been named vice president and general manager of the company's huge Health Care Products division.

Louis H. (Larry) Miller takes over HCP from Karl Wolcott, who will continue as a vice president reporting directly to Marconi president and CEO Fred Parks. Wolcott will be working on the company's healthcare information systems.

Medical imaging products make up more than one-third of the U.S. medical supplies market. Marconi launched Marconihcp.com in August (SCAN, 8/16/00) as a business-to-business Web site to serve the medical imaging supplies market. Through strategic alliances with large group purchasing organizations, the site offers purchasing options to 90% of U.S. hospitals.

Miller has been with Marconi Medical Systems for 15 years, beginning in MRI, and was president of Picker Financial Group when it was formed.
