Medicsight signs Spanish IT company
Computer-aided detection specialist Medicsight has signed a non-exclusive, software license and distribution agreement with Spain-based Alma IT Systems. As part of this agreement, Alma will integrate Medicsight's ColonCAD API 4.0 software into its latest Colon viewer for sale across Europe and South America. The viewer is a 3D visualization workstation designed to help interprets CT colonography images.
IMIX places new DR product
IMIX Americas has installed the first of its new digital radiography product, IMIXhorizon SomaRad, a value-oriented DR system. The company is marketing the system especially to small hospitals, imaging centers, and orthopedic practices. Launched at the 2008 RSNA meeting, SomaRad has been installed at facilities including Centrelake Imaging & Oncology in Covina, CA; the Minnesota private practice of Dr. John Stark in Minneapolis; Lake Station Center in Lake Station, IN; and North Shore Health Centers, Portage, IN.
Mammography Study Compares False Positives Between AI and Radiologists in DBT Screening
May 8th 2025For DBT breast cancer screening, 47 percent of radiologist-only flagged false positives involved mass presentations whereas 40 percent of AI-only flagged false positive cases involved benign calcifications, according to research presented at the recent American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) conference.
