Microboards moves into healthcare market

Microboards Technology (MTI) has created a new medical division as part of a company-wide effort to move into new markets. Chanhassen, MN-based MTI, originally the international division of a Japanese CD-engineering firm, has appointed Charles Thomas of Digital Cardiac Imaging as general manager of the new medical division, which will develop electronic imaging and optical storage services specific to healthcare. MTI’s first medical product is Oscar, which converts cine film to DICOM-compliant digital image data, allowing hospitals that are not PACS-enabled to exchange studies with hospitals that are.
