Norwegian contrast firm HafslundNycomed this month completed its acquisition of the diagnosticimaging unit of Sterling Winthrop. Nycomed bought the unit fromParis-based Sanofi, which had purchased the entire Sterling Winthroppharmaceutical business from Eastman Kodak (SCAN 6/13/94). Bothsales closed Oct. 1, according to a Nycomed spokesperson.

Former Sanofi Winthrop president Daniel Peters has been namedpresident of Nycomed Inc., the new name of the diagnostic imagingbusiness unit.
