A slowdown in the film digitizer market continues to impact the financial performance of film digitizer company Lumisys. The Sunnyvale, CA-based firm reported a 2% increase in revenues for its third quarter.
Although sales showed signs of rebounding, revenues for the period (end-September) were $6 million, compared with $5.9 million for the third quarter in 1996. Net income was $616,000 compared with $817,000 in the same period last year.
The company also reported that the low-cost computed radiography reader it is developing for the medical market is on track for a late-1999 launch (PNN 5/97). Engineers at CompuRad will also be working on the CR project, once that company's acquisition is finalized.
