Philips Medical Systems released a new line of refurbished imaging equipment this month. The Shelton, CT, vendor has launched worldwide sales of its Select line of pre-owned, fully refurbished equipment, ranging from general x-ray, radiography-fluoroscopy, and cardiac and vascular x-ray systems to MRI and CT systems. Select products are compatible with the latest software releases and include Philips parts and glassware. With its refurbished/reconditioned equipment line, Philips hopes to take advantage of a demand that market research firm Frost & Sullivan of Mountain View, CA, estimates will foster double-digit growth this year. They expect the market to expand to $1.5 billion by 2004.
