Picker International of Cleveland has formed an image managementbusiness group to expand the company's offerings in digital imagemanagement. Tapped to lead the new business as general manageris David Talton, a Picker veteran who most recently was managerof visualization and connectivity in the vendor's CT engineeringgroup.
Picker offers a range of DICOM-compatible networking products,such as its Galaxy image management workstation and Montage andOn-Call image-viewing stations. The company, however, has notemphasized digital image management to the same degree as someof its competitors, such as Siemens, GE, and Philips.
Picker formed the group to meet rapidly growing demand forconnectivity solutions in medical imaging, Talton said. Its firsttask is to expand its range of product offerings and provide solutionsthat improve radiology productivity.
