Rorke, Konica expand OEM relationship to storage libraries

Rorke Data and Konica Medical Imaging have expanded their PACS OEM relationship to include Rorke’s advanced intelligent tape (AIT) storage libraries (PNN 11/99) in Konica’s NetStar imaging archiving product (PNN 11/99, HNN 4/19/00), part of Konica’s phased PACS. Rorke’s AIT technology has a capacity range of 250 GB to over 18 TB for noncompressed data and can be configured with fiber channel connectivity for integration with a storage area network. The firm uses Sony AIT2 tape drives that offer up to 8 Mbps of throughput. The Rorke Tape Library systems have a base configuration of a single drive with 10 cartridges and they are expandable to 12-drive, 360-cartridge systems.
