Mammography CAD developer Scanis is gearing up its global efforts in preparation for the launch of its Mammex TR system. The Foster City, CA-based firm has established a European marketing office in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The office will be led by Theo Spangenberg, who has been named European marketing director.
Scanis expects Mammex TR will be available in Europe in the first quarter. The unit has completed preclinical evaluation at the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Southern California (SCAN Special Report, January 2000), and was also recently installed at the Klinik Hirslanden in Zurich, Switzerland, where it will undergo further evaluation. Mammex TR was developed jointly with the TRW Center for Medical Image Analysis (SCAN 10/15/97).
