Siemens Medical Systems has landed a $3 million (Canadian) order to install its Sienet PACS at Charles LeMoyne Hospital in Quebec. The 600-bed hospital will become the first filmless hospital in Quebec, according to Siemens Canada, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. The Sienet PACS will employ an Ethernet and Fast Ethernet-powered network to link electronic retrieval and remote viewing stations. Six workstations will be available for image diagnosis, with 21 consoles slated to be installed throughout the hospital for consultation. The system is expected to be ready for use this summer, according to the company.
