Siemens Medical Systems has announced the promotion of Nancy Gillen to vice president of its magnetic resonance division, with responsibility for marketing the company’s MR systems in the U.S. Gillen replaces John Pavlidis, who was named group vice president of Siemens’ ultrasound division, based in Issaquah, WA, last month (SCAN 2/16/00). Gillen has been national sales manager for the MR division in Iselin, NJ, since 1995. Prior to that she was product specialist for computed tomography. She joined Siemens in 1988 as a CT/MR sales specialist in the New York area.

In other news, Siemens Medical Engineering opened its new MR manufacturing and administration facility in Erlangen, Germany. About 2000 employees will work at the new site, which consolidates MR, special products, and components development and production. The company expects the new facility to produce up to 800 MR systems annually.
