Following Siemens’ acquisition of Shared Medical Systems (HNN 5/17/00), the firms have implemented several management changes at SMS, now a part of Siemens Medical Engineering Group. Former SMS president and CEO Marvin Cadwell has resigned and been replaced by Francis Lavelle, previously senior vice president of U.S. customer operations for SMS. In addition, Hans Mehl, former worldwide managing director of Siemens Audiological Engineering, has replaced Terrence Kyle as CFO of SMS, and Siegfried Bocionek, formerly president of the software components and workstations division, has been tapped for the newly created position of COO.
