Siemens Medical Systems has formalized Ajit Singh's position as vice president of its Siemens Health Services division. Singh had been serving as interim vice president of the group since Reinhard Schmidt left the Iselin, NJ-based company to serve as president and CEO of Surgical Navigation Specialists, an image-guided surgery joint-venture between ISG Technologies of Mississauga, Ontario, and optics firm Carl Zeiss (SCAN 7/22/98).
Singh will oversee Siemens' Managed Healthcare Services division, as well as the company's healthcare information systems and PACS businesses. He will also supervise disease management and cross-business sales, according to Siemens. In his tenure at Siemens, Singh has served as director of program marketing for Managed Healthcare Services and director of healthcare information systems and PACS.
