Michael McLean has been promoted to vice president of full-line sales at Toshiba America Medical Systems. McLean previously managed Toshiba's ultrasound business operations, a position he held about a year. He replaces John Ariatti, who left the Tustin, CA, company in early November. The reason for his departure was not disclosed.

McLean will oversee North American sales operations for Toshiba's CT, MR, nuclear medicine, and x-ray product lines. The directors of ultrasound sales and marketing will report directly to Masamichi Katsurada, president of TAMS, according to a Toshiba spokesperson. The company also announced the promotion of Joseph Fritz to senior manager of clinical development for all modalities. He formerly managed clinical and luminary site development exclusively for the MRI product group.
