Vital Images made several corporate moves last month in preparationfor the 3-D workstation developer's debut as an independent publiccompany. The company announced that it has moved its headquartersfrom St. Paul, MN, to Minneapolis, and has added several new executivesto its management team.

Joining Vital Images is Gregory Furness as vice president offinance and CFO, and Jay Miller as vice president of marketingand business development. Furness was formerly with Camax, a Minneapoliscomputer-aided software developer, where he was executive vicepresident and CFO. Miller previously was with GE Medical Systemsof Milwaukee, where he held several marketing positions, includingmarketing manager for cardiology. Miller will be responsible forproduct management and for developing relationships with othervendors.

Vital Images has developed Vitrea, a 3-D computer based onthe Silicon Graphics O2 workstation, which is designed for routineclinical use of 3-D. The company is being spun off by parent Bio-Vascularthis spring (SCAN 12/18/96).
