Algotec introduced MediSurf version 4, a full-featured, Web-based primary reading station, as part of its exhibit at the annual meeting of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Version 4 incorporates most primary reading capabilities into a Web browser, eliminating the need for dedicated primary reading software to support advanced functions. Features include automatic grouping of cross-sectional images for stack reading, advanced linking for cross-sectional imaging studies, automatic calculation and display of cross-reference lines for images acquired at different orientations, edge enhancement, saving and display of graphic annotations over images, support for high-resolution monitors and postscript printing, and advanced workflow management, including the ability to lock a study for reading and update the study status.
