Analogic of Peabody, MA, posted record revenues and sharply higher net income for fiscal 1997 (end-July). Sales for the year were $256.7 million, up 11% compared with $230.5 million in 1996, while annual net income was $20.1 million, up 54% compared with $13.1 million in the same period in 1996.

For the fourth quarter, Analogic had sales of $71.4 million, up 1% compared with $70.4 million in the fourth quarter of 1996. The company's net income for the most recent period was $6.4 million, compared with $5.9 million in the fourth quarter of 1996. The results for the fourth quarter of 1997 included a charge of $1.7 million for the write-off of a marketable security.
