Biophan Technologies has entered into a joint development agreement with Boston Scientific to create a variety of devices that are safe and compatible with MRI. The two companies will also explore possible licensing agreements under the alliance. This interference can obscure tissue and raise safety concerns. Biophan has developed a coating technology that reduces image interference caused by metal objects. It is also developing implantable devices, such as cardiac pacemakers, that are MR-compatible.
