Interventional firms Boston Scientificand Scimed Life Systems have announced a plan to merge. Accordingto an agreement signed between the companies, Boston Scientific,of Watertown, MA, would acquire Maple Grove, MN-based Scimed ina stock swap in which 3.4152 shares of Boston Scientific stockwould be exchanged for each Scimed share. Scimed will operateas a subsidiary of Boston Scientific. Boston Scientific boughtCardiovascular Imaging Systems (CVIS) earlier this year (SCAN9/14/94).
