HEI, a designer and manufacturer of microelectronics, has acquired the Colorado medical operations of Colorado MEDtech. The deal creates a global medical component design and manufacturing outsourcing business. In trade for stock and subordinated debt, HEI acquired the products, technology, and facilities related to Colorado MEDtech's medical technology development and manufacturing business. The transaction does not include Colorado MEDtech's CIVCO Medical Instrument business unit, which is based in Kalona, IA. CIVCO provides medical imaging products and accessories to the ultrasound market.
