announced that it plans to upgrade 33 of its imaging centers in
the U.S. and U.K. with its new HI Star 0.6-tesla MRI scanner (SCAN
9/27/95). HI Star will enable Health Images centers to conduct
advanced applications such as MR angiography and fast-imaging
techniques. Health Images last year had planned to sell HI Star
outside its network of centers, but since then has postponed those
plans. The company may consider sales to third parties on a selected
basis once its upgrade program is completed in 1997.
