RealTimeImage, a provider of Internet-based streaming solutions, has entered a licensing agreement with Medasys-Japan, a developer and marketer of PACS. Under the agreement, Medasys will integrate RealTime's iPACS Enterprise into its DICOM-server products. The iPACS products allow immediate access to lossless diagnostic-quality images and image sequences over a wide range of bandwidths from simple telephone lines to fast LANs. No preprocessing or intermediate storage is required. Medasys-Japan has a large installed base of DICOM image viewer and teleradiology products. Founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Medasys-Japan is a division of Medasys, SA, headquartered in France, which develops PACS and electronic medical record and radiology information systems.
