PACS developer Merge eFilm has enhanced its Fusion PACS to provide referring physicians with improved Web-based accessibility and image manipulation capabilities. The company's Fusion PACS version 1.2.7 provides secure access to images and reports via the Web, and allows them to be viewed with a set of image manipulation tools similar to those in the eFilm Workstation software, which is optimized for use by radiologists. These additional tools allow the measurement of tumors and analysis of fractures. The upgrade also includes an enhanced security filtering capability that enables operators to manage multiple varied levels of access restrictions by referring physicians. An Image Viewer Plug-in permits third parties to embed image and report viewing capabilities into their own solutions.
